I didn’t know why all of the #distractinglysexy posts started showing up in my timeline, but it kind of pissed me off at the time, because I was like, Why can’t scientists be scientists without having to bring sex into the question? I didn’t understand at the time that it was a sarcastic response to something a guy said, but I still think it was a poor representation of a response which only emphasizes the point,  I think. The headlines would’ve read WOMEN SCIENTISTS REACT EMOTIONALLY TO SCIENTIST’S COMMENTS ON WOMEN SCIENTISTS REACTING EMOTIONALLY TO CRITICISM, if I had known the full story at the time.

Anyway, another distinguished career cut short by what sounds like another out of control social media mob. He credits plenty of women he’d worked alongside during his career in this short bio.

update. Sounds like another social justice warrior who fanned the flames is having her C.V. combed over, and not much is checking out.
